ABSTRACT

AIM:To provide rational evidence for the administration of warfarin in clinic by investigating the utilization of warfarin in our hospital.METHODS:By retrospective analysis, the prescription of warfarin in our hospital was obtained from November 2016 to February 2017 from the system for clinical pharmacist. The general situation of the inpatient, the diagnosis of disease, the use of warfarin, and the combination of drugs and the number of International Normalized Ratio (INR) were statistically and descriptively analyzed.RESULTS:In this investigation,200 patients were included,of whom 53% were males and 47% were females with an average age of (55.28 ± 13.56) years.Only 21% of the average INR values reached the predicted range (2 < INR < 3) during hospitalization and the average dose of warfarin was (2.62 ± 0.60)mg.In patients with INR < 2,there were 66.92% of patients combined with more than one kind of drugs, which decreased the effect of warfarin. In patients with INR > 3,there were 80% of patients combined with more than one kind of drugs, which increased the effect of warfarin.CONCLUSION:The rate of warfarin compliance is low and the warfarin-drug interactions exert a great influence on the patients whose INR value did not reach the predicted range. Thus,to keep the drug safety of patients, more attention should be paid on drug interactions and direct personalized medicine using professional knowledge of pharmacy.

ABSTRACT

Voriconazole is a broad spectrum triazole antifungal agent, widely used in the prevention and treatment of invasive fungal diseases.Long-term use of voriconazole can induce periostitis and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, accounting for serious adverse effects on patients, which has been reported in increasing clinical cases. This review is to characterize the epidemiological and clinical manifestations of periostitis and squamous cell carcinoma induced by voriconazole, and to analyze the mechanisms of triggering periostitis and squamous cell carcinoma, so as to promote the rational use of voriconazole in clinics.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for perioperative rational prophylactic application of antibacterials in type Ⅰ in-cision operation. METHODS:4 201 patients underwent type Ⅰ incision operation were collected from a class A grade three hospi-tal during Mar. 2013-Feb. 2015. The perioperative prophylactic application of antibacterials in type Ⅰ incision operation were ana-lyzed statistically. RESULTS:Of 4 201 patients underwent type Ⅰ incision operation, there were 2 399 cases of prophylactic appli-cation of antibiotics(accounting for 57.10%). Cephalosporins andβ-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor were the main classes of antibacte-rials for preventive use, accounting for 45.60%and 19.76%,respectively. The frequency of using cefazolin, ceftriaxone and amoxi-cillin-clavulanic acid ranked the top 3 places, among which there was 823 cases of unsuitable prophylactic medication time (34.31%),and 855 cases of prophylactic medication time >48 h(accounting for 35.64%). CONCLUSIONS:There still is unrea-sonable perioperative prophylactic application of antibacterials in type Ⅰ incision operation in this hospital. It is necessary to strengthen the supervision of antibacterials and conduct regular rational antibacterials use seminars in order to promote rational use of antibacterials.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To exlpore the eff ect of depsides salts from Salvia miltiorrhiza on human hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 xenograft tumors and the possible mechanisms.@*METHODS@#A total of 36 nude mice were divided into 6 groups: A model group, a negative control group, a positive control group, and 3 treatment groups at low, middle or high dose (n=6). The tumor model of nude mice was given depsides salts at a dose of 10, 20 or 50 mg/kg every 3 day for 16 days. Then samples of subcutaneous tumors in nude mice were collected. The morphological changes of tumor samples were observed by HE staining and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the tumor antigen Ki67 was detected by immunohistochemical method.@*RESULTS@#The tumor growth was inhibited by all doses of depsides salts. The morphology of tumors was shrinkage, broken and irregularly arranged compared with the tumors in the model group and the negative control group. Morphological changes were more obvious in tumors with treatment at high dose. Expression of VEGF and Ki67 in treatment groups and the positive control group were lower than that in the model group and the negative control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Depsides salts from Salvia miltiorrhiza can inhibit the growth of human hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 tumor in nude mice, which is related to the inhibition of Ki67 and VEGF.
